A & R Driving School now offers Driver Education Course. . .

According to statistics, teenage drivers get more tickets and are in more accidents than other drivers.
It is for these reasons that state law requirements for teen drivers age 15 1/2 to 17 1\2 are in place.

What are the requirements for teens?

  1. Complete a 28-hour classroom course (Driver Education) and receive a certificate of completion.

  2. Complete at least 6 hours of behind the wheel driving course with a state licensed driving instructor and receive a certificate of completion.

  3. Have an instruction permit issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles for at least 6 months before taking the drive test with the DMV.

  4. Practice up to 50 hours with parents or guardian prior to taking the drive test.

  5. If a teenager fails the written (Law) test, there is a one-week wait before taking the test again.

  6. If a teenager fails the drive test, a two-week wait is needed before taking the test again.
